Isothermal – Definition and Pronunciation
What is Isothermal?
When a gas passes through a series of pressure and/or volume variations without change of temperature, the changes are called “isothermal”.
Examples of Isothermal
An isothermal process is one that takes place at constant temperature, for example phase changes from liquid to vapour. Boyle’s Law is an example of an isothermal process.

However, there are cases wherein reduction of pressure isothermally would condense relatively large volumes of liquid in the pores, raising the liquid saturation high enough for some liquid to migrate to producing wells.
