FESCO Boxship VLADIVOSTOK Involved in Collision at Nansha Port: Three Containers Salvaged

On September 21, three containers were knocked off the FESCO Boxship VLADIVOSTOK during a collision at Nansha Port while the vessel was docked and undergoing loading and unloading operations. The accident occurred around 9:45 PM local time when the VLADIVOSTOK was struck by the DE XIN SHANG HAI, a container ship making its maiden voyage from Hong Kong.

The collision caused three containers from the VLADIVOSTOK to fall into the water. The Guangzhou Maritime Rescue and Coordination Centre quickly responded by dispatching two patrol boats and two tugboats to handle the situation.

Within two hours, two of the containers were successfully secured back to the VLADIVOSTOK, while another tugboat managed to secure the remaining container to prevent it from drifting away. By 2:45 AM, a salvage boat arrived, and all three containers had been retrieved by 8:30 AM the following day.

Currently, both vessels involved in the incident are docked at Nansha Port, awaiting damage assessments and further investigations.
