Collision in the Bosphorus Strait: AYED 1 and BUNUN ACE Ships Make Contact
Two vessels collided in the Bosphorus Strait near Pasalimani in the southern Sea of Marmara, Turkey, on Thursday. The Turkish Directorate General of Coastal Safety confirmed that the ships, AYED 1 and BUNUN ACE, made contact in what was described as a “scraping manner.”
The Directorate emphasized the importance of their response team’s actions: “The maneuver of our Pilot Captain on the ship BUNUN ACE, which was heading toward the Üsküdar coast, and the maneuver of our Tugboat KURTARMA-5” were crucial in preventing a more serious situation. Their quick intervention successfully stopped BUNUN ACE from running aground.
