HD Hyundai and H-Line Shipping Develop AI-Powered Ships of the Future

HD Hyundai and H-Line Shipping have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaboratively develop AI-based autonomous and eco-friendly ship technologies. The initiative focuses on enhancing efficiency, safety, and sustainability in shipping through AI integration in navigation, engine automation, route optimization, and cargo management.

The agreement, signed on July 28, 2025, at the HD Hyundai Global R&D Centre in Pangyo, involves HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE), HD Hyundai Marine Solution, Avikus, and H-Line Shipping. It will leverage Avikus HiNAS autonomous navigation system, HD Hyundai Marine Solution’s OceanWise routing solution, and HD KSOE’s AI-CHS cargo management system.
