Within the framework of this project, a coal transshipment complex with a capacity of 18 million tonnes per year is being constructed, along with a dedicated railway line and port water area improvements. The construction of port “Lavna” is expected to boost cargo turnover along the Northern Sea Route and facilitate year-round navigation.
According to the Russian Transport Minister, Roman Starovoit, the total investments in the port have exceeded 87 billion rubles.
Port “Lavna” is non-freezing and offers direct access to the ocean, with the facility capable of handling vessels with a deadweight ranging from 20 to 150 thousand tonnes.
