ACT in Jordan Secures PERS Certification from ESPO
Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT) in Jordan, managed by APM Terminals, has been awarded the Port Environmental Review System (PERS) certification by the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO). This milestone makes ACT the first Middle Eastern port to join the EcoPorts network, highlighting its commitment to environmental sustainability and operational excellence.
The PERS certification was granted following a rigorous evaluation of ACT’s environmental policies, risk management, legal compliance, and reporting practices. The audit verified ACT’s dedication to preserving a pristine marine and terrestrial environment while adhering to international standards. ACT provided over 64 pieces of evidence during a comprehensive external audit to meet ESPO’s environmental management requirements.
