CFARER: Transforming Maritime Software Solutions
CFARER has officially launched as an independent maritime software brand, having spun off from DNV Maritime Software. DNV remains the majority shareholder, while Wilhelmsen Port Services joins as a strategic minority partner, integrating its digital division, Diize, into CFARER Diize’s port clearance solution, Always on Board, is now part of CFARER’s portfolio alongside ShipManager (for fleet technical management), Hull Manager (for hull inspections and integrity), and Navigator Port (for automating port processes).
CEO Erik Staubo described the move as a transformative shift, not just a rebrand, enabling CFARER to operate with its own leadership and strategy. This independence allows the company to focus on developing innovative software, respond swiftly to customer needs, and forge broader industry partnerships while ensuring uninterrupted support for existing users.

CFARER’s foundation rests on DNV’s maritime expertise, Wilhelmsen’s global operational network through Diize, and Papillon, a maritime tech investor driving long-term growth. The Navigator Port and Always on Board solutions are unified under CFARER Port Clearance to streamline port operations.
In 2025, ShipManager and Hull Manager will receive significant upgrades, with all products offered in both cloud and on-premise versions to provide flexibility for users. Michael Satzger, Wilhelmsen Port Services’ VP of Strategy, highlighted that the partnership aims to deliver smarter, safer solutions for seafarers and port operations.
CFARER is poised for global expansion, open to new collaborations and potential ownership changes, with a mission to lead the maritime software industry through innovation and industry cooperation.
