USC Begins Active Phase of Construction for Floating Dock “Vladimir Emelyanov” Project 24012
At the production site of ASPP in the Southern Center for Shipbuilding and Ship Repair of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), a unique operation was carried out to move the sub-blocks of the floating dock “Vladimir Emelyanov” of project 24012. This was reported by the press service of USC.
Four sub-blocks weighing between 700 and 970 tons were transported to the central slipway for further assembly, block formation, equipment installation, and completion work. The movement was conducted using self-propelled modular transporters. The structures underwent inspection by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, as stated in the report.

The metal floating dock is designed for launching various ships, vessels, and large marine structures (up to 250×48 m in size and weighing up to 25 000 tons), as well as for lifting ships and vessels out of the water for dock inspections, repair, and painting of the underwater part. Additionally, it is intended for performing internal transport and logistics operations related to the movement of large blocks and hulls along the construction waterfront between slipways.
The construction of the floating dock is being carried out on behalf of the “Severnaia Verf” plant as part of USC‘s dock program. The project is being implemented using a distributed shipyard method simultaneously at two production sites of the Southern Center: ASPP and “Krasnye Barrikady.” The floating dock is named after the Hero of Socialist Labor, laureate of the State Prize of the USSR, veteran of the Great Patriotic War, and honorary shipbuilder Vladimir Alexandrovich Emelyanov.
It is worth noting that the goal of USC‘s dock program is to create new and reconstruct existing dry docks and hydraulic structures of USC enterprises through advanced financing. The program is part of the state program of the Russian Federation for the “Development of the Defense Industry Complex.”
